WEEK 1:
EATING TO BUILD WINNING HABITS
THE BEGINNING OF YOUR JOURNEY! Starting a new way of eating is like going on a trip: You can plan for it, you can imagine it, you can shop for it, but what the experience becomes is something you’re going to have to find out for yourself. That’s the joy of a personal journey. The way you feel on this program is going to be specific to you. The challenges you face are going to be yours. It is your own inner strength you will have to rely on if your mission is to be successful.
I’m here to tell you that it can be successful. You can identify the habits that have prevented you from losing the weight you want to lose, and living the energized, healthy lifestyle you want to live. This is your opportunity to shine a light on those habits, and develop strategies to keep yourself committed to the program. Once you get started, once you begin eating those bountiful foods, it’s going to get easier and easier.
And then there’s going to be a moment when it gets harder. Because that’s life! A diet doesn’t happen in a vacuum. Sure, you can go on a retreat for seven days where people prepare food for you, or get picked for a TV show to host you for six months, but at some point you’re going to have to go home, where your old habits are waiting for you.
Over the next three weeks, focus your attention on one important lesson every day, using consistent and conscious choices to build new neural pathways to form positive habits. Notice how you feel as you begin eating from the delicious plant-based menu. Soon you’ll enjoy the benefits of a full spectrum of vitamins and minerals and you’ll feel more energetic, sleep better, and feel a sense of vitality. You are on your way to building the habits that will help you continue on the path to the best version of you.
The 22-Day Revolution program takes planning and cooking. You’ll learn the building blocks of a healthy and delicious plant-based diet that will take you well past the 22 days and become staples in your family’s repertoire. You should set out to follow the 22-day program closely. I designed the meals to work with one another in providing a balance of macro- and micronutrients. However, I understand that over the course of 22 days, you’ll get busy and you’ll eat out, and the fundamentals of a demanding life may seep in. I urge you to carve out the time for yourself in this important journey.
But when you can’t take the time to cook and enjoy the meal, be prepared. Check out the restaurant’s menu online to select a meal that closely replicates the one you’re missing.
